Soaking up some sun
The month of May saw me take two weeks of vacation from work to make some serious progress on the back deck. The weather was beautiful, hitting a high of 33 degrees one day. Before I started, I had an unfinished plywood deck. My task was to build side walls around the deck and a roof down from the side walls. The roof would provide some shelter to the main floor deck and would tie the walls archtecturally into the main roof. Once the walls were built, I would be able to lay down a fibreglass deck over the plywood - something I had never done before, but was excited to try out. Everything went really well. It took just over one week to frame everything, lay down the fibreglass, and install the roofing. These shots are before & after shots of the deck
Here are before & after shots of the back of the house, showing how the new roof ties into the house. I really like how it turned out:

That roof really does tie in well. Good job!
