Passing the Baton

Last night, I finished the drywalling in the bathroom - the boarding, the mudding, and the sanding. I have now handed the baton to Wendy who will handle the painting and tiling.

It looks like a room now, but it'll look truly wonderful when she's done with it. We found a local tile store that has a good price on subway tiles ($2 sq ft) and also sells cove baseboard tile. This style of tile used to be used at the base of walls 75 years ago, so we're really excited we found it. Combined with the subway tiles, it should really give the bathroom an authentic look (well, besides the jetted tub and Kohler one-piece toilet )

Besides the work on the bathroom (which was really just a couple of hours last night), I also worked on framing the walls inside Kayleigh's room and started doing the trim work (yay!) around the upstairs deck. Wendy spent the weekend ripping the plywood off the front deck and started cleaning up the original wood windows out front.
